Clari Utas is a half-blood of Gandharva heritage. She lives in Kalibloom and Zard Blain is her sponsor.

Appearance

Clari looks like a young woman with short, blue hair and turquoise eyes. Her noticeable sura trait is her ears, in the form of dark purple fins.

Personality

Clari is generally very brash and judgemental, often stating her opinions and feelings to others in ways that seem insensitive and rude. She seems to greatly respect and care for people close to her, however, like Zard Blaine, Parr Hael, Teo Rakan, and Anna Haias.

Synopsis

During Gandharva's rampage in Kalibloom, she was caught up in emotional resonance. She was prevented from killing anyone by Zard Blaine, her sponsor.

Later, she admitted being ashamed of having endangered the people around her and that Zard had to subdue her.[1]

A bothered Clari asks Teo if Leez Haias, the girl who pulled out the sword of Return, really was the daughter of Rao Leez, remembering the test of the sword in which Clari had scoffed at the idea of Leez resembling Rao. Teo notes that Leez's face and physique had certainly changed and more resembled Rao's now, to which Clari starts pondering how Rao Leez, a man rumored to be uninterested in women, could have a daughter, and if Leez took some kind of physical alteration drug in the sura realm. Teo asks Clari if she thinks Leez is an imposter, and Clari affirms this.

When Leez begins to yell about the destruction of village she had lived with alongside her mother for fifteen years, Clari tells Parr that this is a lie. Clari snaps, and directly confronts Leez, telling her to stop lying to everyone, as Anna had died in N5; it would be impossible for Leez to have lived with her until N15. Clari demands that Leez tell the truth about her upbringing.

Clari, who is present, begins to seethe. When Leez then asks Parr if someone was sent to the temple for the gods yet, an exasperated Clari storms out of the room. Parr explains that Clari is in a very bad mood, and that she said some bad things to Leez that night.

Clari notes that it is dark under the forest's canopy and that it seems unlikely that a god would rummage around here. The group is suddenly startled by the appearance of Clophe. Airi appears to recognize him, and Clari wonders why a half would be out here without a sponsor.

(26) A loud noise is heard outside the Temple and Clari and others gather at the window. They see that Ran Sairofe and Leny are faced with the rakshasa, Chatan, who previously infiltrated Mistyshore. The magicians consider helping, but Ruche stops them by pointing out that they must not reveal the location of the barrier stone.

Clari is pleased that Teo is no longer plagued with guilt. When Teo mentions how her time as a fighter is finite, Clari suggests that Teo should take on an apprentice.

Special Episode 8 - The South Pole Expedition

(1) In year N22, Chandra chooses 7 people to gather Taraka fragments for him, Clari among them. Each of them had a choice to either go to the land of unending winter, or to go to the south pole, or to personally tell Chandra to bug off.

Only Tilda was brave enough to go for the third option. Ran and Mirha chose option one. Since Ran is scared of halfs, this forced Clari to take part in an expedition to the south pole alongside Siera Sies, Ruche Seiran, and Lutz Sairofe.

Siera speculates that since suras of the Gandharva clan are prominent in the region, the one with the fragment is likely to be among them. Lutz recalls that a Kinnara clan sura that looks like an elephant was also seen in the area and hopes that they do not encounter it. He jinxed it.

(2) The party realizes that the ground is shaking because of the elephant-shaped sura above them. They speculate that it must have died during the Cataclysm, which is why it did not get moved to the sura realm, and the Taraka fragment must be acting as a power source for the carcass.

The Taraka sura catches Siera and his party members then rescue him. Clari offers to carry him in her arms if he is tired, which he decisively refuses. The group criticizes Siera for his poor vigor management, Clari going as far as suggesting that Zard would have been a better priest.

Suddenly, Siera's scarf catches on fire, Lutz and Ruche use Hoti Varuna to put it out, and Agni teleports over. Siera attempts to help Agni battle the sura, only to end up getting saved himself. The sura is defeated and the party safely returns.
